Amid all convective heat transfer augmentation methods employing single phase, jet impingement delivers significantly higher coefficient of local transfer. The arrangement leading to nine jets in square array has been used cool a plate maintained at constant flux. Numerical study carried out using RANS-based turbulence modeling commercial CFD Fluent software. turbulent models for the are three different “k-ε” (STD, RNG, and realizable) SST “k-ω” model. numerical simulation output is equated with experimental results find most accurate impact variation Reynolds number, inter-jet spacing, separation distance considered geometry considered. These parameters affect transfer, temperature, kinetic energy related flow. “h” values have noticed decline rise “H/D.” model be maximum agreement results. average value reduces from 210 193 W/m2K increase “H/D” 6 10 “Re” = 9000 S/D 3. As per results, spacing “S/D” 3 determined optimum value.
